EPCM for a soya processing plant
Algeria
IDOM has developed the engineering (basic and detail engineering), for a new Nutris soya processing plant in Algeria (Africa), with a production capacity of more than 6,000 t/day of processed soybeans, 1200 t/day of soybean oil, 4200 t/day of meal, 600 t/day of husk pellets with an installed power of 25 MW and 8000 hours/year of operation.
The scope of the project starts with the unloading and storage of the seeds at the port, the main process is located in a specific plot for oil preparation, extraction and refinery and utilities and the storage and loading of the product (oil, meal and pellet hulls) and the future bottling plant are located in a plot near the railway and road.
IDOM participated in different phases of the project until it was stopped, performing first a conceptual engineering, then a basic and detailed engineering and having a technical team on site performing the tasks of technical office on site.
In this type of projects where equipment plays a major role, IDOM worked with the different process equipment suppliers to integrate them into the project and thus be able to provide the necessary services, as well as the necessary structural and civil designs.
