Gondola lift planning: A comprehensive technical, economic and environmental approach

The project consists of implementing a tourist system of gondolas connecting Tingo Nuevo and Kuélap Fortress – Amazonas, as well as providing complementary tourist services to the Kuélap Fortress Archaeological Complex.
Technical, economic-financial, legal, social and environmental structuring, as well as promotion, of cable cars between the locality of Tingo Nuevo and the Kuélap Fortress – Amazonas.
To this end, IDOM carried out the following actions:
- Technical studies at feasibility level.
- Market studies, quantification of demand and definition of tariffs.
- Elaboration of the financial model and verification of sustainability and financial viability of the project.
- Determination of the competition factor for the process.
- Identification of variables for the Bases and the contract.
- Preparation of terms of reference, bidding conditions and preliminary version of the contract.
- Identification of sources of risk during the design, construction and implementation stages.
- Project risk matrix and risk allocation for the State and the private investor.
- Definition of compensation schemes or guarantees to be granted.
Determination of benefits and costs of the parties for the granting of guarantees. - Identification of potential investors and market sounding.
- Preparation of documents to be submitted to potential bidders.
- Preparation of documents for the process.
The result of this strategic collaboration was the preparation of high quality documents for the project tender, leading to the current operation of the gondola lift system. IDOM has left its mark, transforming a vision into a vibrant and enriching reality for the region and its visitors.
