Integral program to support small and medium-size enterprises (PIAPYME)
Mexico
he Delegation of the European Union to Mexico was officially created in 1989 with the aim of maintaining and deepening contacts with the parliaments of the countries that are traditional partners of the EU and promoting the values on which the EU is based.
In this context, with the general objective of strengthening economic, commercial and business relations between Mexico and the European Union, IDOM has designed the PIAPYME (SME) Program. This program helps to increase the competitiveness and export capacity of Mexican small and medium-sized enterprises, facilitating the implementation of the Economic Partnership Agreement between the two regions.
The functions developed by IDOM have been as follows:
- Training to business development institutions through specialized training programs. These include topics such as Corporate Social Responsibility, methodologies for the implementation of quality standards, and strategies for the diversification of services.
- Boosting business competitiveness through the implementation of international quality systems and specialized training in business management and innovation.
- Technology transfer between technology centers in the European Union and Mexico to improve the provision of services.
- Promoting cooperatives and the social economy by identifying the needs of cooperatives and supporting the design of governance models.
The capacity of the Mexican business network has been strengthened to face the challenges and opportunities of the global economy. Thanks to the PIAPYME program, the Mexican business network has received comprehensive support through numerous instruments, improving its competitiveness and gaining access to strategic alliances with European companies.
