Combined Cycle Plant Pembroke, Wales – 2,000 MW
UK
The 2,000 MW Combined Cycle plant is located in Pembroke, Wales, on the site of a dismantled central fuel station. The gas comes from liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Milford Haven.
It consists of 5 modules of 400 MW each, equipped with an Alstom 288 MW GT 26B gas turbine, a heat recovery boiler and a steam turbine. The Plant uses hydrogen-cooled electric generators and produces enough electricity to power two and a half million homes.
Alstom has contracted IDOM as an Architect Engineer, developing the basic and detailed engineering of civil works and metal structures.
