Program to support the international insertion of Brazilian SMEs (PAIIPME)
Brazil
Brazil’s Ministry of Development, Industry and Commerce (MDIC) is responsible for promoting the sustainable and competitive development of the country’s industry, commerce and services. This government body has charged IDOM with the design of this program to promote the internationalization of both public and private institutions linked to foreign trade and the competitiveness of SMEs.
- The services provided by IDOM in this project have focused on:
- Development of new strategies to boost the competitiveness of SMEs, strengthening public-private dialogue for the creation of new technology companies.
- Redesign and implementation of a MDIC business intelligence system to optimize decision-making.
- Improving the competitiveness of companies’ products, facilitating greater access to markets.
- Support for cooperation between the European Union and Brazil to facilitate the development and diversification of new products.
- Training of MDIC officials to promote processes with greater added value.
- Support in the preparation, dissemination and management of the subsidy program.
The development of the project has increased the competitiveness and export capacity of SMEs, improving their decision-making and innovation capacity. In addition, both Brazilian companies and public institutions have increased their competitiveness, enabling them to thrive in an increasingly liberalized environment.
