Public procurement of innovation for the Valencia Climate Mission 2030
Spain
The City Council of Valencia, as part of the Valencia 2030 Climate Mission, has implemented a Public Procurement of Innovation (PPI) strategy to stimulate innovation and promote novel solutions that contribute to the city’s climate goals.
In order to adequately prepare these PPI processes, IDOM conducted eight preliminary market consultations focused on different priority challenges for the region.
In order to support the City Council of Valencia in carrying out these 8 Preliminary Market Consultations, IDOM carried out the following tasks:
- Assistance in the development and implementation of each preliminary consultation with the market. Preparation of reports detailing the actions carried out, the proposals presented by the operators and the clarifications requested and received.
- Support to the City Council in the dissemination of the preliminary market consultations, ensuring compliance with the principles of publicity and transparency.
- Continuous support to the companies participating in the consultations, facilitating their understanding and effective participation in the process.
Certification that the consultation processes were open and accessible to natural or legal persons, both public and private, ensuring that they could receive relevant information.
The Public Procurement of Innovation (PPI) Strategy project for the Valencia 2030 Climate Mission has succeeded in establishing an effective framework for interaction between the City of Valencia and the market, facilitating the identification of innovative solutions to the city’s climate challenges.
