Rabigh 3 seawater desalination plant – 600,000 m³ / day
Saudi Arabia
ACWA Power has contracted the consortium formed by ABENGOA, SIDEM y TIEJUN (SEPCOIII) to build the Rabigh 3 seawater desalination plant. The project is located in the Rabigh area, 150 km north of Jeddah, in the western region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The new desalination plant using seawater is based on reverse osmosis technology and is designed with a capacity of 600,000 m³ / day of potable water. The Plant is made up of the following facilities:
- Towers and sea water intake pipes
- Seawater pumping station
- Pre-treatment
- Reverse osmosis
- Post-treatment
- Brine Discharge
The project also includes a wastewater treatment plant, to ensure compliance with environmental requirements.
IDOM carried out the basic and detailed engineering for TIEJUN (SEPCOIII), as well as the integration of the engineering developed by the other two consortium partners.
