ROTATING TARGET FLOW TEST
Europe | USA
IDOM designed and provided complete EPC services for the RTFT (Rotating Target Flow Test), a testing facility in which advanced PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry) techniques are used to characterize coolant flow in MW-class rotating target designs for neutron sources, such as SNS in the US and ESS in Europe. Efficient cooling of the target material, which is subject to intense proton pulses, is a critical issue in the design of a spallation target.
