Shuqaiq 3 seawater desalination plant – 450,000 m³ / day

The Saudi Water and Electricity Company has contracted the consortium formed by Marubeni, Almar Water Solutions, Rawafid and Acciona Agua to build the Shuqaiq 3 seawater desalination plant. The project is located on the Red Sea coast and, in late 2021, will supply drinking water to the regions of Asir and Jazan.
The new plant is based on reverse osmosis technology and is designed for a capacity of 450,000 m³ / day of drinking water. The plant is composed of the following facilities:
- Seawater intake
- Pretreatment
- Reverse osmosis
- Post-treatment
- Emissary of brine
IDOM has developed the detailed engineering of the civil works of the project for Acciona Agua, including:
- Civil engineering, structures and architecture engineering
- Buried installations, roads, urbanization and landscaping
- Auxiliary facilities buildings of all buildings
