Support for the organization of the UEFA Women’s Champions League 2024 Final

The Basque Government, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and the City Council of Bilbao have hosted in recent years the celebration of major events with the purpose of promoting the internationalization strategy of Euskadi, Bizkaia and Bilbao. In line with this strategy, IDOM has led a support office for the organization of the UEFA Women’s Champions League 2024 Final in Bilbao, coordinating all the agents involved in the terms and scope defined by the contract signed between Bilbao Ekintza, UEFA and RFEF.

The services provided by IDOM in the framework of this project have been:

• Integration and production of a document integrating the chapters developed by the different working groups, with close collaboration in the elaboration of the security chapter (SSNS).
• Create and update an organization chart with the main interlocutors to facilitate internal communication and management of the project.
• Drafting and layout of an information document (fan flyer) in five languages, addressed to the finalist teams and UEFA, with all the information of interest related to the event and in line with the internationalization strategy of the event.
• Creation of a regulatory, normative and procedural risk plan.
• Drafting of an Intellectual Property Rights Protection document to protect the commercial interests of UEFA and its partners.
• In parallel, organization of the Europa League Final 2025, development of the security chapter in accordance with the new UEFA requirements.

The work carried out by all parties involved made it possible to celebrate a successful event and break the record attendance for a Women’s Champions League final, with more than 50,800 spectators, thus strengthening the international positioning of Euskadi, Bizkaia and Bilbao.
