Urban Housing Plans: Cerros de Talcahuano and Lomas de Machalí
Chile
IDOM has collaborated in various urban and territorial planning processes in Chile (at Regional, Metropolitan Area, Municipal and Master Plan scales).
Among them, two Urban Housing Master Plans (PUH) stand out: Cerros de Talcahuano and Lomas de Machalí. These plans are part of a programme of the Ministry of Housing and Urbanism, focused on generating an integral urban development that will allow for the development of the urban areas of the city.
The proposed plans were developed based on demand analysis (housing and non-housing), mobility and natural disaster studies. In addition, processes of citizen and institutional participation were carried out, which allowed the definition of the target image and the main components of the Plan.
The final proposals included housing in different typologies, facilities, public spaces and improvements to the mobility system.
